Sapphire - Birthstone for September

Sapphire translates from the ancient Greek word for blue, but they are to be found in many different colours. They are often referred to the 'gem of the heavens' or 'celestial gem', and are thought to offer faith, truth and sincerity. They bring joy, wisdom and peace. Sapphires are second in hardness to only diamonds, and therefore provide an excellent partnership.

Please note: Due to the nature of handmade jewellery, some items may not always be as symmetrical in appearance as those that are machine made, but should still maintain an overall high quality standard.
Shank - (if applicable) - the shank or band must be free from any obvious blemishes and/or scratches, and should show an overall uniform and suitable finish.
